Forgotten Truths 2

Hello again.  This is Mike.
Continuing on from a previous post concerning the life of Joseph and how Yahweh Elohim is in control of every situation He places us in in our lives.
The book goes on to explain that nothing in our lives is random.  Everything has been preplanned for our benefit and for the esteem of Yahweh's Kingdom.

Jer 1:5
"Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came out of the womb I did set you apart – I appointed you a prophet to nations." Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah יהושע

unto good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

John Calvin once said

"when God wants to judge a nation, he gives them wicked rulers."

I say this to bring a point here.  The nation of Israel had a wicked king and queen,  Ahab and Jezebel,  Ahab tried to get around a prophecy regarding his death.  Yahweh brought it about just as He said anyway.  You can read about this in I Kings 21.
So even when things seem out of control, they are still very much under His perfect control.  Joseph's life was very much out of control.  For all practical purposes his life was ended.  He was a slave.  But his life was very much under the perfect control of Elohim.
Does your life seem out of control?  Perhaps, not a whole lot more to live for or just trying to get through another day?  Perhaps your goals, and dreams and vision for life have been ripped away from your life and you are just wondering how you can keep going or the only thing keeping you going is that others are depending on you so you just go through the motions.  Remember this Yahweh Elohim is in control of your life, perfect control.  He is preparing you for something that is ahead of you and you just can't see it right now.
Psa 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body. And in Your book all of them were written, The days they were formed, While none was among them. Job 14:1 "Man born of woman is of few days and turmoil-filled. Job 14:5
Since his days are decided, the number of his months is with You, You have appointed his bounds which he does not pass over. Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah יהושע unto good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
So, do we live as we please?  No, We do what we can to live as Yahweh Elohim desires us to live.
Where you are right now in life is your assignment from Elohim.  How do you feel about your assignment?
Pleased?  Hate it?  (By the way I do not like milking cows, but that is where my assignment is now) Drifting along?  Is your assignment welcome or unwelcome?
Know this:  Your assignment is from Yahweh.  Does that change how you view it?  I know it is changing it for me.  He is in control of our journey.  He is in control of our ultimate destination.  He is preparing us ahead of time for that which He desires us to do.  He assigns our posts.  How are we handling our post?

Three observations:
1.  Sometimes Yahweh Elohim gives a deadend assignment.
Deu 29:29
"The secret matters belong to יהוה our Elohim, but what is revealed belongs to us and to our children forever, to do all the Words of this Torah. 2.  Sometimes there will be an assignment within an assignment
3.  Sometimes Yahweh will refuse your desired assignment.

More to come.

Ruth part 1: Introduction

What kind of a woman was Ruth? What is it about this woman who lived so long ago that I find so intriguing? What makes a woman leave everything she has ever known for a life so completely different, giving up everything to know and serve Yahweh?

What made the people of Israel see her as not just a Moabite foreigner, but as a righteous woman who trusted in Yahweh? What kind of character, and faith did she have? How can I learn from her example?

These are some of the questions I will be meditating on in this Character study of Ruth.

Forgotten Truth

Hello there,
My name is Mike and I have been asked to share with you what I have posted on my own blog.
If you desire to see my blog as well it is at
myksheartsathome.blogspot.com

Laurie (my wife) just recently sent me a free kindle book to read. Wow, this is about something I totally forgot. This will make a dramatic difference in my life. The book is called "God Built" by Steve Farrar. This takes into account the life of Joseph.

Now, let me back up a few years. Several years ago now I gave up some things that were a very deep part of my life and existance. So, from that point on I have kinda been in limbo. I have some goals and desires but have just kind of floated through life. Now, Laurie had no idea what this book was about when she sent it to me. So I will give you some thoughts that have hit me hard.

Yahweh is in control and in charge of all things. That does not mean that those evil, bad things that happen were ordained by Him but He allows those things to take place if people choose them. What He does do is turn them to His good.  However, as I study Scripture more, it is very possible they were ordained by Him, (more on this later).

Rom 8:27 And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the set-apart ones according to Elohim.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all matters work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Rom 8:29 Because those whom He knew beforehand, He also ordained beforehand to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, for Him to be the first-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30 And whom He ordained beforehand, these He also called, and whom He called, these He also declared right. And whom He declared right, these He also esteemed.
Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to this? If Elohim is for us, who is against us?
Rom 8:32 Truly, He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up on behalf of us all – how shall He not, along with Him, freely give us all else?
Rom 8:33 Who shall bring any charge against Elohim’s chosen ones? It is Elohim who is declaring right.
Rom 8:34 Who is he who is condemning? It is Messiah who died, and furthermore is also raised up, who is also at the right hand of Elohim, who also makes intercession for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of the Messiah? Shall pressure, or distress, or persecution, or scarcity of food, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it has been written, “For Your sake we are killed all day long, we are reckoned as sheep of slaughter.”
Rom 8:37 But in all this we are more than overcomers through Him who loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor messengers nor principalities nor powers, neither the present nor the future,
Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim which is in Messiah יהושע our Master.

Heb 1:3 who being the brightness of the esteem and the exact representation of His substance, and sustaining all by the word of His power, having made a cleansing of our sins through Himself, sat down at the right hand of the Greatness on high,
Col 1:17 And He is before all, and in Him all hold together.
Joh 1:3 All came to be through Him,1 and without Him not even one came to be that came to be. Footnote: 1Eph. 3:9, Col. 1:16, Heb. 1:2, Heb. 11:3, 2 Peter 3:5, Ps. 33:6.

Joh 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Psa 23:1 יהוה is my shepherd; I do not lack.
Psa 23:2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters.
Psa 23:3 He turns back1 my being; He leads me in paths of righteousness For His Name’s sake. Footnote: 1Or He converts.
Yahweh Elohim, is soveriegn and will direct our steps in the way that He sees as best for us and for His desires. He alone knows the plans He has for us and what needs to take place for those to happen Pro 3:1 My son, do not forget my Torah, And let your heart watch over my commands;
Pro 3:2 For length of days and long life And peace they add to you.
Pro 3:3 Let not kindness and truth forsake you – Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart,
Pro 3:4 Thus finding favour and good insight In the eyes of Elohim and man.
Pro 3:5 Trust in יהוה with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
Pro 3:6 Know Him in all your ways, And He makes all your paths straight.
Pro 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes1; Fear יהוה and turn away from evil2. Footnotes: 1Isa. 5:21 2Job 28:28.
John J. Murray said this"The plan of Elohim is perfectThe plan is exhausetiveThe plan is for my ultimate goodThe plan is secret. Elohim hides it from me until it happensI discover it day by day as it unfolds.(behind a frowning providence p.10)

May your day be filled with thoughts of Yahweh Elohim and the good He desires to do in your life and the great things He desires to do in and through you

Jer 29:10 “For thus said יהוה, ‘When seventy years are completed, at Baḇel I shall visit you and establish My good word toward you, to bring you back to this place.

Jer 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I am planning for you,’ declares יהוה, ‘plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and an expectancy.

Jer 29:12 ‘Then you shall call on Me, and shall come and pray to Me, and I shall listen to you.

Jer 29:13 ‘And you shall seek Me, and shall find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart1. Footnote: 1Dt. 4:29, Joel 2:12.

My 1st. Book Review

This is a book review that I wrote about a year ago.

I have not been asked by anyone to review any books for them, nor am I reviewing books for payment.

I must give credit here to my mom for her wonderful editing skills and patience with poor spelling and punctuation. She took the time out of her busy schedual, and on short notice edited this for me. However the actual writing and format are my own.

The Three R's and

You Can Teach Your Child Successfully by

Ruth Beechick

I just finished reading this series of books by Ruth Beechick. Her methods of teaching are known as the Commen Sense method of education. After reading through these I feel I have a strong foundation for teaching my own children should I ever have a family. They are very thorough, and have given me confidence that I can even teach my children in my weak areas and have them excel.

The Common Sense method of teaching promotes parents as the best teachers for their children, and advocates the use of resources other than textbooks for the best learning. These resources include developing a lifestyle of learning, interaction, living books, and hands on opportunities.

In these books, Mrs. Beechick gives helpful charts, explanations, sample lessons, and even an overview of what children should be learning when. However, she also advises to move no faster than what the child can handle, as it is better to have mastery of the subjects at hand than to cover many items with little or no retention.

The first three booklets cover grades K-3rd. Each booklet takes on one of the three R's, since these are the foundation for all other learning in the future. Mrs. Beechick breaks down each subject into easy to follow levels that build on each other. However she also warns to master each level thoroughly before moving on, as that can be an easy temptation.

In An Easy Start In Arithmetic, you will learn how easy arithmetic can be, and how much your attitude towards the subject will affect your child either negatively of positively. You will also discover that a child goes through three different modes of thinking about arithmetic as his mind is developing, and how to effectively take advantage of each, for the best possible foundation in this subject.

In A Home Start In Reading, you will learn the five steps to teaching reading from pre-reading to fluency. You will also learn how to tell when your child is ready to learn to read and what to do in the meantime to prepare them for reading, how to teach phonics in a non-overwhelming way, and how to respond when your child doesn't seem to be catching on.

In A Strong Start In Language, You will learn how to teach language in a non-threatening way that Mrs. Beechick calls the "Powerful Natural Method", how to encourage creativity, and different methods for teaching spelling. There are many sample lessons showing you how to effectively create your own lessons using good literature.

In her book, You Can Teach Your Child Successfully, Ruth Beechick cover all subjects in grades 4th - 8th, including many samples, and charts. For each subject she gives a thorough list of guidelines to go by for each grade level.

The first subject covered is reading. This covers how to teach reading after fluency has been gained. Topics covered are reading comprehension, textual, imaginative, and functional reading. The writing section covers how to write, writing quality, mechanics, spelling, usage and grammar. The arithmetic section covers making arithmetic meaningful, how to teach for meaning and understanding, problem solving, numbers and the decimal system, and of course addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The last section of the book covers teaching history and social studies, science and health, music and art (even if you have no knowledge of these subjects), and how to teach the Scriptures as literature, history, and science.

I feel I have been enriched by reading these books, and even learned many things I had never understood before, especially in arithmetic and language skills: to teach for meaning and understanding, not just the ability to solve a math problem, or diagram a sentence. The principles in these books can be applied no matter what method a person uses to teach, including textbooks. I would highly recommend these books to the anyone who is new to homeschooling or has been homeschooling for years.
